Music Streamer | 19″ Rack PC

New Product Introduction (NPI) and Electronics Manufacturing

Our client, a prominent media and IT company, approached us to take their prototype music player into production.

Based around a 19” rack PC, the music player is an extremely scaleable audio system, seamlessly bringing music together in a robust architecture. Harnessing audio over Ethernet protocol, the player is the answer for large network based systems, providing up to 64 stereo zones for audio playback.

4E were tasked with taking the client’s development-level information and sample unit, designing it for production, completing the final assembly and test documentation, and manufacturing the unit in production volumes.

As part of the NPI (New Product Introduction) exercise, 4E specified the materials to be used, sourced the appropriate and optimum supply chain, and created the bill-of-materials for the unit.

From our client’s perspective, we offered a turnkey solution, taking the product from prototyping through to pre-production units and on into production manufacturing.
